How can I assign a minus 1 for a double bogy or worse

No, I don't we tried this once and because of the way we calculate as we play, it got more confusing than it was worth.  We just put a limit on how many strokes you can have on any one hole.  After triple bogey-pick up your ball and keep the pace of play.
